About Us

Song School began as the vision of long time East Sydney musician and teacher Gabrielle Johnson of Gabrielle Johnson Music who - alongside her friend and coworker Solomon Steele - saw a real need in the community for a safe environment where kids and teens can explore their personal musicianship and develop their performance skills.

In January 2023 the Song School teaching format was created, where curious kids with a love of music and collaboration get together to sing, play instruments, rehearse, perform, and share in music together.

This combined with the private lessons offered by the school and the monthly open mics for kids and teens in Coogee allow for students to have a holistic and performance minded approach to their musical development, nurturing the next generation of artists where they are instructed by industry professionals, growing and evolving their identity as artists along the way!
