At Song School, our goal is to help people of all ages fall in love with making and performing live music.
We believe music is meant to be shared. Playing with others builds confidence, connection and community, while giving students something meaningful to work towards.
Through a professional, psychologically informed approach to music education, we create a supportive environment where students can take creative risks, develop their own musical identity and grow at their own pace.
Along the way, we see students build confidence, performance skills, collaboration, musical awareness and lasting friendships becoming not just better players, but more confident musicians.
Guitar Lessons!
Our guitar lessons are built around the music you actually want to play. From first chords through to more advanced technique, students develop the skills, confidence and musical understanding to become capable, independent players.
Lessons are taught by working musicians, with opportunities to play alongside others and perform live throughout the year. Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to take your playing further, we'll help you find your own sound and become the kind of musician you want to be.
Singing Lessons!
Our singing lessons are about more than just hitting the right notes. Students build healthy vocal technique, musical confidence and the freedom to develop a voice that feels like their own.
Lessons are shaped around the music you love, with a focus on expression, performance and becoming a more confident, independent singer. With opportunities to perform live throughout the year, students can put their skills into practice in a supportive, real-world setting.
Drum Lessons!
Our drum lessons are built around learning to play real music from the start. Students develop solid technique, timing, coordination and groove while learning the songs and styles that excite them.
As confidence grows, the focus expands to playing with other musicians, listening as part of a band and developing a strong musical feel. With opportunities to perform live throughout the year, students can turn what they learn in lessons into real playing experience.
Saturday Group Music Classes
PLAY MUSIC WITH OTHERS
Our group classes give students the chance to make music together, build confidence and experience what it feels like to be part of a band.
Learning alongside others helps students develop timing, listening, collaboration and performance skills, while building confidence and learning how to contribute as part of a group.
It’s a fun, supportive way to grow musically, make friends and put everything learned in lessons into practice.

At Song School, the safety and wellbeing of our students comes first.
Our teachers engaged in child-related work hold current NSW Working With Children Checks, and Song School maintains public liability insurance for its programs and activities.
Song School operates from an established community venue in Maroubra. Our teaching rooms are set up with visibility in mind, with internal windows, open-door practices where appropriate, and shared spaces that help keep lessons observable and connected to the wider environment.
We also take a psychologically informed approach to teaching, creating an environment where students feel respected, supported and comfortable taking creative risks. We want every student to feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, express themselves and grow in confidence at their own pace.
For younger students, we work closely with parents and families to create a positive, professional and child-safe learning environment.
